Now gentlemen, pay attention. If you want to impress a date in Bangkok, the place to be is the Sky Bar in the State Tower. The shots below were taken from the 64th floor at the rooftop bar. There is also a rooftop restaurant where you can dine in the warm evening whilst listening to some excellent mood music provided by a rooftop band or Mr CD player.
Make sure you take a little tripod for best photos, or have a steadier hand than me! My background image is a (deliberately) blurry shot from this tower. Dress code is smart casual, I suspect that being a quiet Monday night the code was wavered a bit for some of our fellow tourists. Drinks are expensive but who cares. Make sure you go around to the restaurant side after visiting the bar as the view is even better from there than the bar.
My last post turned out to be rather prophetic - whilst we didn't get lost, we did catch the wrong train!
